The Simple Trick That Got My Teens to Say 'Yes' to Family Time

I don't know about you but grocery shopping is Not an activity that I enjoy doing. It’s time-consuming, repetitive, and have you seen the prices lately?!

But something changed for me recently.

Spending quality 1:1 with your teens is one of the best ways to connect.

It's not about the amount of time or even the activity, it's the time together.

Grocery shopping is something that I have to do every week, so I decided that every time I went grocery shopping, if my kids were home, I would ask one of them if they wanted to come.

Usually it's a no.

But last week? Both of my teens, at different times, said YES!

I felt so great inside. It was as though, I'd won a prize! 🏆

And you know what? Grocery shopping is now almost enjoyable. 😉

There’s something about walking side by side, distracted by the task at hand, that makes conversation flow so much easier. And, of course, I always let them pick a treat. (Bribery? Maybe. But it works!)

Supporting you always,

Laurie 🌸
