That night I sat on my bed, alone and scared for my teen...

I had a great conversation with my now 20 year old daughter this weekend. You know, the kind that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy after. I'm so excited to see her over the holidays. She hasn't been home for one year because she's going to University in Belgium. 🇧🇪

Sometimes, I still have to pinch myself to remind me, where she's at now in her life and where I'm at, is all real!

I remember just a few short years ago, this was NOT the reality I was in.

I was sitting on my bed, feeling completely lost about how to help my daughter who was struggling. I felt like I was in a dark hole with no light, no hope of things ever getting better. In that moment, I felt exactly how you might be feeling right now - scared, alone, and desperate for someone to just tell me what to do to make everything better again.

But here's what I discovered:

While I couldn't control my daughter's journey or fix her struggles, I could control how I showed up as her mom.

That's when everything changed.

I realized that to create that unshakeable bond I wanted with my daughter, I needed to start with myself.

It began with just 5 minutes of daily journaling. Then came simple breathing exercises and movement.

These small steps made such a huge difference that it transformed not just my wellbeing, but my entire relationship with my teen.

That's why I do what I do now. I support moms like you who are parenting teens with mental health challenges. Because I've been where you are, and I know that feeling of wanting to fix everything and not knowing where to start and what to do, while sacrificing your own wellbeing and mental health.

Through my work with moms just like you, I've discovered that when we take care of ourselves first, we become the steady, calm presence our teens need - even in their toughest moments. Not by having all the answers, (and your teen doesn't need or even want you to have all the answers) but by being there in a way that actually works to support, guide and help your teen.

One thing I know for sure: there's always hope and things can get better!
